Paul was simply trying to prevent them from having a perveted gospel by adding laws such as don't vote "Democratic." LOL Sorry! That was something I thought that we would all know was just a perverted twist to the gospel. ∟or whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it (James 2:10). Paul goes on to say that they were tried to add their law to the grace by adding the circumcision and legalism into their "grace" package. The Galatians started shifting to circumcision, which Paul knew was getting caught in circumstances and getting their eyes off of God and having a false confidence. Another thought I had was that when Paul was addressing this with the Galatians was he didn't want them to buy into any other teaching that came along. The one thought I had was, it means we have alienated ourselves from God. I seen the rest of your message and the text you used and I have a couple of different things I would like to express with that particular "misused" expression we hear all the time. YLT ye were freed from the Christ, ye who in law are declared righteous from the grace ye fell away ~JimĬlick to expand. NLT For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from Gods grace. NCV If you try to be made right with God through the law, your life with Christ is overyou have left God's grace. When you attempt to live by your own religious plans and projects, you are cut off from Christ, you fall out of grace. MSG I suspect you would never intend this, but this is what happens. KJ21 Christ then becomes of no effect unto you, whosoever of you claim justification by the law ye are fallen from grace. ESV You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law you have fallen away from grace. CEV And if you try to please God by obeying the Law, you have cut yourself off from Christ and his wonderful kindness. You have fallen away from grace (from God's gracious favor and unmerited blessing). ![]() ![]() AMP If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ.
